Three things can be done:

Have in mind that child mining labor exists and touches your daily lives through the electronic devices that you cherish.

Create or support efforts of social movements to address the root causes of this problem, including poverty and lack of free education in the mining zones.

Write to your electronic manufacturers requesting them to map their supply chains and avoid using minerals emanating from child labor.

Your actions, while they may seem small, could have a huge effect for hundreds of thousands of children in the Congo.

O projecto loja de comércio justo nas Caldas da Rainha começou em Abril e termina em Novembro. Segundo informações dadas por ONG's apenas 1% da população portuguesa conhece o Comércio Justo e por isso decidi continuar a divulgar esta filosofia de desenvolvimento (reconhecida na Organização das Nações Unidas, na Comissão Europeia e no Parlamento Europeu) e os seus produtos em varias feiras em Portugal.

The project of a fair trade store in Caldas da Rainha began in April and ends in November. According to information provided by NGOs only 1% of portuguese population knows the Fairtrade and so I decided to continue to spread this philosophy of development (recognized by the United Nations, the European Commission and European Parliament) and its products in various trade fairs in Portugal.
